How to Set Up Email Autoresponders for Form Popups?

Autoresponder emails are sent automatically, immediately or with a delay, and without requiring an external email marketing tool.

An email autoresponder is an automated email that is sent to users right after they submit their email address via a popup.
With Popupsmart’s Email Autoresponder, you can:

How to Enable Email Autoresponder
- Go to your Popup Editor
- Navigate to the Publish step
- Locate Email Autoresponder
- Toggle the Email Autoresponder switch ON
- Click Edit to customize your autoresponder email

Once enabled, Popupsmart will automatically send emails to visitors who subscribe via this popup.
Email Autoresponder Editor Overview
The Email Autoresponder editor consists of two main parts:
- Settings & content controls (left panel)
- Live email preview (right panel)
This allows you to design and preview your email in real time.
General Settings
The General Settings section controls how your email is sent and displayed in inboxes.

Subject Line
This is the subject users will see in their inbox.
- Example: Welcome to Our Newsletter
- You can use Smart Tags to personalize subject lines (e.g., visitor information).
Sender Name
This is the name displayed as the email sender.
- Example: Your Brand Name or Marketing Team
- Recommended: use a recognizable brand or personal name.
Reply-To Email
This is the email address that receives replies from subscribers.
- Make sure this is a valid and monitored email address.
Send Email After
Choose when the autoresponder email should be sent.
- 0 minutes: sent immediately after subscription
- You can delay delivery by minutes or hours if needed
Tip: Immediate delivery usually results in higher engagement.
Email Font
Select the font used throughout your email content.
- Example: Arial
- Choose a font that matches your brand style.
Email Background Color
Sets the background color of the email container.
Body Background Color
Sets the background color outside the email container.
Email Content Sections
You can fully customize the content of your autoresponder email using drag-and-edit sections.

Header
Used for the main headline of your email.
- Example: Thank you for your subscription!
- Keep it short and welcoming.
Image
Add a visual element to your email.
- Recommended for branding or promotional visuals
- Helps increase engagement
Text Content
Used for your main message.

If enabled, you can include a coupon code directly in the email. You can also include a coupon code that you have in the popup itself.

Highlight specific products from your Shopify store directly inside the email.

Sending Test Emails
Before publishing, always test your autoresponder.

- Click Send Test Emails
- Enter your email address
- Review:

Publishing the Autoresponder
After finishing customization:
- Close the email editor
- Click Publish
- Make sure your popup status is Activated
Once published, the autoresponder will start sending automatically to new subscribers.
