Popupsmart vs Sleeknote

Sleeknote, from Aarhus in Denmark, sells popups, slide-ins, bars and embedded forms to ecommerce teams, with every feature on every plan, gamification as an add-on and no free plan. Popupsmart is a popup builder that starts free and puts every targeting rule and gamified popup on every plan. They count traffic differently, Sleeknote by visitors and Popupsmart by pageviews, so this page prices both at the same traffic with the conversion Sleeknote prints beside its own prices. Each figure comes from the two companies' own pages, Popupsmart's 2026 benchmark or the products' reviewers, with the date it was read.

Choose Popupsmart if…

  • You want a free plan to start, or a lower price at 50,000 pageviews a month and under
  • You want spin-to-win and other gamified popups without paying for an add-on
  • You want AI to draft the whole popup from a prompt, and Smart Mode to pick who sees it

Choose Sleeknote if…

  • You run many websites and want them all on the entry plan
  • You want scratch cards, quizzes and seasonal calendars as well as spin-to-win

Popupsmart or Sleeknote: which should you choose?

Choose Sleeknote if you want every feature from the first plan, A/B testing and analytics included, unlimited websites, phone support, and the widest choice of games: scratch cards, quizzes, Learn to Earn and seasonal calendars. Choose Popupsmart if you want to start free, pay less at most traffic levels, get spin-to-win without an add-on, or have AI draft the popup. On price, at the 3 pageviews per visitor Sleeknote prints beside its plans, Popupsmart costs less at four of the seven traffic levels on this page, the same at one and more at two.

Sleeknote doesn't divide features by plan. Its entry plan, $69 a month for up to 25,000 visitors, about 75,000 pageviews by its own figure, or $55 on annual billing, has everything the larger plans have: A/B testing, analytics with goal tracking and revenue attribution, exit intent, geo-targeting, SiteData rules built on your own site's data, product recommendations, coupon codes, multistep forms, embedded forms, and unlimited campaigns on unlimited domains. Every plan comes with phone, chat and email support. Its Gamification add-on, $95 a month instead of $69 at the entry tier, adds Spin to Win, Scratch to Win, Learn to Earn, a Seasonal Calendar and quizzes. The money-back guarantee runs 30 days on monthly plans and 100 days on annual ones. Its integrations page lists 277 tools and marks 27 as direct integrations, among them Klaviyo, HubSpot, Salesforce and European email tools such as Voyado, Rule.io and CleverReach. Its Capterra reviewers praise its ease of use most, and its Trustpilot reviewers its support.

Popupsmart's case is the start and the price. Its free plan carries 5,000 pageviews a month with every targeting rule and campaign type; Sleeknote has a 14-day trial. Basic costs $39 a month for 50,000 pageviews on three websites, against Sleeknote's $69 for about 75,000, and at 500,000 pageviews Popupsmart's Expert costs $159 to Sleeknote's $240; Sleeknote costs less at 150,000 and 375,000. Spin-to-win, lottery ball and surprise box popups are on every Popupsmart plan, the free one included, where Sleeknote sells its games as an add-on. The AI builder drafts a whole popup from a prompt and Smart Mode, on paid plans, picks who sees it; Sleeknote's AI rewrites and translates the text you write. On Shopify, Popupsmart creates a unique discount code for each visitor; Sleeknote shows codes from a list you upload. And Popupsmart can send each new subscriber an autoresponder email on every plan; Sleeknote doesn't email subscribers itself.

A word on who wrote this. I founded Popupsmart in 2018, after five years of growth consulting at Flatart, the agency I started in 2013, so I'm not a neutral judge here, and I've made the page checkable instead. Every Sleeknote fact is from sleeknote.com, its help center or its Shopify App Store listing, read on 27 Sep 2026. Sleeknote has few public reviews anywhere: 6 on G2, 13 on Capterra, 16 on Trustpilot and 4 on the Shopify App Store. So we read every one of them, the Danish ones in Danish, and give each site's figures under its own name. They are too few to show how often Sleeknote goes wrong for its users, and this page doesn't pretend otherwise.

How the two differ

Popupsmart

Popupsmart is a popup builder billed by pageviews that starts free: every targeting rule and gamified popup is on every plan, and the plans differ by traffic, websites, analytics and A/B testing.

The free plan carries 5,000 pageviews a month on one website with every targeting rule and campaign type, spin-to-win included, one popup live at a time and Popupsmart branding. Paid plans run from $39 a month for 50,000 pageviews on three websites to $159 for 500,000 on unlimited websites, about a sixth less on annual billing. They add unlimited popups, analytics, custom CSS and fonts, and Smart Mode, which picks the audience with AI; A/B testing starts on the Advanced plan. The AI builder drafts a whole campaign from a prompt. Popups appear through one script, added by hand, through Google Tag Manager, the Shopify app or an optional WordPress plugin. On Shopify it targets by cart value, contents and purchase history, creates a unique discount code for each visitor and reports the revenue its popups drive. Each lead goes to the tool you connect, with an autoresponder email on every plan.

Sleeknote

Sleeknote is an on-site engagement tool for ecommerce billed by monthly visitors: every plan has every feature, unlimited campaigns and unlimited domains, gamification is a paid add-on, and there is no free plan.

Plans run from $69 a month for up to 25,000 visitors to $470 for 500,000, with a custom quote above; paying yearly takes 20% off. A visitor is what Google Analytics calls a user, counted once however many pages they view, and the pricing page puts 25,000 visitors at about 75,000 pageviews. Every plan has popups, slide-ins, sidebars, bars and embedded forms; A/B testing and analytics with goal tracking and revenue attribution; targeting by behavior, page, referral, UTM parameter, location, cookie and IP address, and by your own site's data through SiteData; product recommendations; and phone, chat and email support. The Gamification add-on, $95 a month at the entry tier, adds Spin to Win, Scratch to Win, Learn to Earn, a Seasonal Calendar and quizzes. A 14-day trial needs no card. One script covers any website, and a Shopify app runs it inside Shopify admin. It sends no email itself: leads go to your email tool, or to your Shopify customers, and stay in Sleeknote for three months.

Monthly list prices, billed monthly, as each company's pricing page showed them from a US location on 27 Sep 2026. Popupsmart counts pageviews; Sleeknote counts monthly visitors, what Google Analytics calls users, each counted once however many pages they view. To put both on one scale, the bars use 3 pageviews per visitor, the figure Sleeknote prints beside every plan on its pricing page (up to 25,000 visitors, "around 0 – 75,000 pageviews"), and price each tier at the smallest plan of each product that covers it, without Sleeknote's Gamification add-on. The tiers are every plan limit of both products up to 500,000 pageviews. If your visitors view more than 3 pages each, Sleeknote's plans stretch further; divide your own monthly pageviews by your monthly users to see which figure fits your site.

Sleeknote's column is read from sleeknote.com's pricing, features, integrations, home and Shopify pages, its page for AI assistants, its help center (29 articles, among them the plans, sessions, the Shopify app, coupon codes, revenue attribution, A/B testing, page load time, SMS consent, leads and cancelling) and its Shopify App Store listing on 27 Sep 2026. Popupsmart's column is from our pricing page and help center. A dash means the company's own pages don't list it.

Gamification and targeting, against 28,674 campaigns

Sleeknote puts every feature on every plan but sells gamification as an add-on, and has no free plan; Popupsmart puts gamified popups and every targeting rule on every plan, the free one included. Sleeknote's home page says its wheels, scratch cards and quizzes "convert up to 132% better than a plain form". We measured these features in our own 2026 benchmark: 28,674 campaigns from 11,533 businesses that ran a popup with Popupsmart between January 2024 and September 2026. The two companies measure differently, so neither figure settles the other. And not every result helps our case: the gamified popups we include on every plan got far more clicks, but not measurably more leads.

CapabilityWhat 28,674 Popupsmart campaigns showedPopupsmartSleeknote
Gamified popupsSpin-to-win and other gamified popups get far more clicks (7.33% vs 1.87% of displays, median campaign; the spin itself counts as a click), but do not collect measurably more email or phone leads than plain signup popups.Every plan, free includedGamification add-on
Exit intentNo statistically reliable advantage: popups on the most sensitive exit-intent setting converted 1.10% vs 0.78% without exit intent (median campaign), a gap that could be chance.Every plan, free includedEvery plan
Multi-step formsMulti-step forms show no measurable conversion advantage over single-step forms once step-1 clicks without contact details are excluded.Every plan, free includedEvery plan
New and returning visitorsPopups targeted at new visitors only convert 1.13% vs 0.77% for popups shown to everyone.Every plan, free includedEvery plan
Display frequencyThe first two times a visitor sees a popup in a week convert at similar rates (1.33% and 1.22% of displays, pooled); from the third view conversion falls, and from the sixth view it is 0.41%, 31% of the first-view rate.Every plan, free includedEvery plan
Traffic sourceVisitors arriving from an email or SMS campaign convert on popups at 1.81% vs 0.74% for visitors from organic search.Every plan, free includedReferral and UTM rules, every plan
Page targetingPopups on cart and checkout pages convert 4.57% vs 1.07% on the home page (median campaign); blog pages convert 0.23%.Every plan, free includedEvery plan
Autoresponder emailAmong businesses whose popups collect an email or phone number, 16% connect an external tool and 64% turn on the built-in autoresponder email.Every plan, free included

Rates are per popup display. "Median campaign" means half the campaigns did better and half did worse. Each line is quoted from the benchmark with its qualifiers: where it says a gap could be chance, treat it as a lean, not a rule. The benchmark measured Popupsmart popups, so it shows what a feature did there, not what it does inside Sleeknote. Sleeknote's 132% is its own figure, from its home page; its page for AI assistants gives it as "2× the conversions of standard popups" across 26,270+ campaigns. Plans as each company's pages listed them on 27 Sep 2026.

The method, the full data and every statement: the 2026 popup conversion benchmark report.

G2 has only a handful of Sleeknote reviews, written between 2019 and 2026. Its reviewers praise a quick setup without developers, an editor that is easy to use and to customize, and the templates; two credit it with more sales or conversions, and one reviewer each names the HubSpot integration, the price and page speed. The complaints are audience settings that took trial and error, a back end with many windows, design tools that could be more modern, and analytics that could go deeper.

Reviewers most often praise how easy Popupsmart is to use and to set up without a developer, then its design options, its targeting and the leads it brings. Their complaints centre on limits: design options they would like wider, the free plan and pageview caps, the price step from free to paid, missing features and reporting depth.

How we made this comparison

Written from experience

We have built and sold Popupsmart, a popup builder, since 2018. That tells us what decides a purchase in this category: how a tool bills, what its free plan holds back, where it sends a lead, and what its users say. Those are the rows on this page.

It also makes Popupsmart one of the two products compared here. So nothing on the page rests on our word alone: every figure comes with its source and the date we read it.

Written by Emre Elbeyoğlu, Founder & CEO of Popupsmart.

The companies' own pages

Sleeknote's plans and features were read live from sleeknote.com on 27 Sep 2026, from a US location, as a buyer sees them: its pricing page, its features page, its integrations page, its home page, its page for AI assistants, its help center, its Shopify App Store listing, its Capterra reviews and its Trustpilot reviews.

Popupsmart's figures come from our pricing page and our help center. A feature a company's own pages don't list shows as "Not listed", not as missing.

G2's reviews

On 27 Sep 2026 we collected every review of both products on G2: all 6 of Sleeknote's and all 141 of Popupsmart's. An AI assistant read each one in full and sorted what it praises and criticises into themes, counting a review once per theme. No person has checked every tag. The ratings and review counts are G2's.

The quotes are verbatim, checked word for word against G2, and each links to its review with the labels G2 gives it: organic or invited, incentivized or not. Reviews reach G2 in different ways, so each product's source line says how many are which, and when they were written.

We re-read the companies' pages and G2 at least every 90 days, and the dates on this page move when we do. If a figure here is out of date, tell us through our contact page.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Popupsmart and Sleeknote?
Sleeknote bills by monthly visitors, puts every feature on every plan, A/B testing, analytics and unlimited domains included, sells gamification as an add-on and has no free plan; support is by phone, chat and email. Popupsmart bills by pageviews, starts with a free plan, puts every targeting rule and its gamified popups on every plan, and drafts popups with AI; its plans differ by traffic, websites, analytics and A/B testing. At the 3 pageviews per visitor Sleeknote prints beside its prices, Popupsmart costs less at most traffic levels, from $39 against $69 at 50,000 pageviews.
How much does Sleeknote cost?
Its plans are billed by monthly visitors. Core costs $69 a month for up to 25,000 visitors, $83 for 50,000, $155 for 125,000, $240 for 200,000, $319 for 300,000 and $470 for 500,000, with a custom quote above. Paid yearly, each costs 20% less: $55 a month at the entry tier. Every plan has every feature. The Gamification add-on raises the entry price to $95 a month. There's no free plan, but a 14-day trial with no card, and a money-back guarantee of 30 days on monthly plans and 100 on annual ones. These are the US prices its pricing page showed on 27 Sep 2026; its page for AI assistants quotes euros instead.
Does Sleeknote have a free plan?
No. It has a 14-day free trial with every feature and no credit card; after it, your campaigns stop showing until you choose a plan, and they stay in your account. Popupsmart has a free plan with no end date: 5,000 pageviews a month on one website, with every targeting rule, spin-to-win and the other campaign types, one popup live at a time and Popupsmart branding.
Is Sleeknote cheaper than Popupsmart?
At most traffic levels, no. At the 3 pageviews per visitor Sleeknote prints beside its own prices, Popupsmart costs less at 50,000 pageviews ($39 against $69), 100,000 ($69 against $83), 250,000 ($99 against $155) and 500,000 ($159 against $240); the two cost the same at 75,000 ($69); and Sleeknote costs less at 150,000 ($83 against $99) and 375,000 ($155 against $159). Below 50,000, Popupsmart starts free and Sleeknote at $69. What you get for the price differs: every Sleeknote plan includes A/B testing and analytics, which Popupsmart keeps for paid plans (A/B testing from Advanced), and every Popupsmart plan includes gamified popups, which Sleeknote sells as an add-on.
How does Sleeknote count visitors?
Its pricing page says a visitor is what Google Analytics calls a user: one person viewing three pages counts once. The same page prints a pageview figure beside each plan, 25,000 visitors "around 0 – 75,000 pageviews", which is 3 per visitor. Its help center describes the plans as based on sessions instead, and says sessions aren't the same as unique visitors. Popupsmart counts every pageview. To compare the two for your own site, divide a month's pageviews by that month's users in your analytics: at more than 3 pages per visitor Sleeknote's plans stretch further, at fewer Popupsmart's do.
Do spin-to-win popups collect more leads?
In Popupsmart's 2026 benchmark, not measurably. Spin-to-win and other gamified popups got far more clicks (7.33% vs 1.87% of displays, median campaign; the spin itself counts as a click), but did not collect measurably more email or phone leads than plain signup popups. Sleeknote's home page says its wheels, scratch cards and quizzes convert up to 132% better than a plain form; the two companies measure differently. Popupsmart includes gamified popups on every plan, so you can test one against a plain form at no extra cost. Sleeknote's add-on costs $95 a month instead of $69 at the entry tier.
Which email tools does each connect to?
Both connect directly to Klaviyo, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Salesforce, ActiveCampaign, Drip, Zapier and Google Analytics, and both can send each lead to your own URL. Popupsmart also connects directly to Brevo, Customer.io, SendGrid, MailerLite, EmailOctopus, Make and Meta Pixel; its help center lists 19 destinations, a few of them reached through Zapier. Sleeknote's integrations page lists 277 tools and marks 27 as direct integrations, many of them European email tools such as Campaign Monitor, dotdigital, APSIS, Voyado, Rule.io and CleverReach; it lists Sendinblue (now Brevo), Customer.io, SendGrid and MailerLite without that mark. By its own page for AI assistants, Sleeknote has no public API.
Which one is better for a Shopify store?
Both install as Shopify apps and target by cart value. Sleeknote's app runs inside Shopify admin with live store data, sends new subscribers to Shopify, recommends products from your collections, shows coupon codes from a list you upload, and attributes revenue to campaigns on Shopify or through Google Analytics ecommerce tracking; the Shopify App Store rated it 3.5 from 4 reviews on 27 Sep 2026. Popupsmart targets by cart value, contents, purchase history and customer tags, creates a unique discount code for each visitor, shows products from a product feed and reports the revenue its popups drive; the Shopify App Store rated it 4.6 from 48 reviews on 6 September 2026.
Will either one slow down my site?
We haven't measured Sleeknote, so this is what each side publishes. Sleeknote's help center says its small first script loads the main one only after your page has finished loading, asynchronously, from a CDN. Popupsmart's own measurement puts its script at about 97 KB, loading in about 124 ms. Page speed rarely comes up in reviews of either: two of Sleeknote's 13 Capterra reviews and one of its 6 G2 reviews praise how light it is, and 4 of Popupsmart's 141 G2 reviews complain about speed. What do reviewers say about Sleeknote and Popupsmart?
Sleeknote has few reviews, and we read every one we found. On G2 it is rated 4.3 from 6 reviews written between 2019 and 2026, praised for quick setup and ease of use; complaints are audience settings that took trial and error and design tools that could be more modern. On Capterra it is rated 4.8 from 13 reviews written between 2016 and 2025; missing features (4) and price (3) are the complaints that recur. On Trustpilot it has a TrustScore of 4.3 from 16 reviews, 13 of them in Danish, and 10 praise the support; the five from 2026 came through Trustpilot invitations. On the Shopify App Store it has 3.5 from 4, three five-star reviews and one one-star review from a store that found no cancel button in the app. Popupsmart was rated 4.5 from 141 reviews on G2 on 27 Sep 2026, and, on 6 September 2026, 4.5 from 46 on Capterra, 4.2 from 42 on Trustpilot and 4.6 from 48 on the Shopify App Store. The sites are separate, and none of these figures add up to one.
What support does each offer?
Sleeknote offers phone, chat and email on every plan, 8:00 to 17:00 Central European Time, and a Success Manager with check-in meetings on its 300,000–500,000 visitor plan; its page for AI assistants says every plan gets one. 10 of its 16 Trustpilot reviews praise the support. Popupsmart offers email support on every plan, the free one included, and chat on paid plans; its Expert plan adds an hour a month with a CRO expert.
Can I switch from Sleeknote to Popupsmart?
Yes. Add Popupsmart to your site with one snippet, Google Tag Manager or its Shopify app, rebuild your best campaign on the free plan and connect the same email tool, so new leads go to the list you already use. Download your leads from Sleeknote as a CSV first: its help center says it keeps them for three months. To cancel, it says to use its billing portal or email it; a cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period, and it gives no refund on cancellation outside its money-back guarantee. Then remove the Sleeknote script, or its Shopify app, so the two don't show popups at once.
