Popupsmart vs Alia
Both build popups that collect email and phone numbers, but they are sold to different buyers. Alia works only on Shopify, starts at $100 a month with no free plan, and lets AI run the testing, targeting and personalization — or lets its team run the whole thing. Popupsmart runs on any website, starts free, and costs $39 a month for 50,000 pageviews. Below: what each plan includes, as each company's own pages list it, and where each product's reviews are.

Choose Popupsmart if…
- Your site is not on Shopify: Alia's pricing page says it integrates with no other platform
- You want to start on a free plan, or pay $39 a month rather than $100
- You run several websites, or need cookie consent or click-to-call campaigns
Choose Alia if…
- You run a Shopify store and want AI to run the targeting, testing and personalization
- You want quiz answers synced to Klaviyo, Postscript or Omnisend as custom properties
- You want revenue, AOV and LTV measured per campaign, or a team to run your campaigns
Popupsmart or Alia: which should you choose?
Alia is the deeper tool for a Shopify store, and it is priced like one. Its plans start at $100 a month for 20,000 site visitors, there is no free plan, and the fully managed plan puts its own team on your campaigns. What that buys is a popup that runs itself: AI that decides the moment a visitor sees it, adapts the offer to that visitor, and runs the A/B tests on revenue rather than on form submissions. Quiz answers land in Klaviyo, Postscript or Omnisend as custom properties, and its reporting follows a campaign through to revenue, average order value and lifetime value. On the Shopify App Store it is rated 4.6 from 114 reviews.
Popupsmart's case begins where Alia stops: everywhere that isn't Shopify. Alia's own pricing page says it does not integrate with any other platform, so a WooCommerce store, a WordPress site, a SaaS site or a custom build cannot use it at all. Popupsmart installs on any of them with one script, starts free with 5,000 pageviews a month, and costs $39 a month for 50,000 pageviews and three websites. It also has campaigns Alia doesn't list: cookie consent, click-to-call and an autoresponder email. If you are a Shopify brand with the traffic and the budget, and you want the AI and the service, choose Alia. If your site is not Shopify, if a free plan or a $39 plan is what the project can carry, or if you run several sites, choose Popupsmart.
How the two tools differ
Popupsmart
Popupsmart is a popup builder for any website: priced on pageviews, free to start, several sites on one plan.
The free plan carries 5,000 pageviews a month and every campaign type, with one popup live at a time. Paid plans start at $39 a month for 50,000 pageviews and three websites, and add unlimited popups, analytics and Smart Mode, which picks the audience with AI after a month of manual targeting. A/B testing starts on the Advanced plan. On Shopify it targets by cart value, cart contents and purchase history, and creates a unique discount code for each visitor. Leads go to 19 destinations, Zapier and Make among them, or stay in the tool for export.
Alia
Alia is a Shopify-only service: AI runs the testing and the personalization, and its team will run the campaigns for you.
There is no free plan. Basic starts at $100 a month for 20,000 site visitors and runs to 750,000; the Fully Managed plan adds a dedicated customer success manager, a Slack channel and testing its team runs for you. Prism AI adapts the popup to each visitor, Smart Triggering picks the moment it fires, and Smart Testing runs the experiments and keeps the winner, judged on revenue, average order value and net-new subscribers. Quiz answers sync to Klaviyo, Postscript and Omnisend as custom properties. Its integrations page lists 24 tools, all of them around Shopify.
Pricing: what each plan costs
Alia figures read on aliapopups.com, 23 Sep 2026

| Free plan | Yes, 5K pageviews | No, 14-day trial |

| Live campaigns on the free plan | 1 | No free plan |
| Trial of a paid plan | 14 days, 30 on the managed plan | |
| More than one website on a plan | 3 at 50K, 5 at 100K, unlimited at 500K | |
| Annual billing | $32.50 / mo at 50K | 25% off |
| Campaigns run by their team | On the Fully Managed plan |
Monthly list prices as each company's pricing page showed them from a US location on 23 Sep 2026. The two do not bill in the same unit: Alia counts site visitors a month, Popupsmart counts pageviews, and one visitor loads several pages, so the tiers are not equivalent and no figure here converts between them. Alia's prices sit behind a slider its page draws itself; the whole tier table was read from that page's own script.

Reviewers most often praise how easy Popupsmart is to use and to set up without a developer, then its design options, its targeting and the leads it brings. Their complaints centre on limits: design options they would like wider, the free plan and pageview caps, the price step from free to paid, missing features and reporting depth.

How we made this comparison
Written from experience
We have built and sold Popupsmart, a popup builder, since 2018. That tells us what decides a purchase in this category: how a tool bills, what its free plan holds back, where it sends a lead, and what its users say. Those are the rows on this page.
It also makes Popupsmart one of the two products compared here. So nothing on the page rests on our word alone: every figure comes with its source and the date we read it.
Written by Emre Elbeyoğlu, Founder & CEO of Popupsmart.
The companies' own pages
Alia's plans and features were read live from aliapopups.com on 23 Sep 2026, from a US location, as a buyer sees them: its pricing page, its integrations page, its home page and its own comparison with Popupsmart.
Popupsmart's figures come from our pricing page and our help center. A feature a company's own pages don't list shows as "Not listed", not as missing.
G2's reviews
The quotes are verbatim, checked word for word against G2, and each links to its review with the labels G2 gives it: organic or invited, incentivized or not. Reviews reach G2 in different ways, so each product's source line says how many are which, and when they were written.
We re-read the companies' pages and G2 at least every 90 days, and the dates on this page move when we do. If a figure here is out of date, tell us through our contact page.
