How to Create an A/B Testing for a Popup Campaign

Learn how to create, implement, and analyze for optimal conversion rates by running an A/B split test for your popup campaigns with simple steps.

The A/B Testing feature in Popupsmart allows you to test different variations of your popup campaigns. Make smarter, data-driven decisions and maximize campaign effectiveness.

With A/B split testing, experiment with design, segment targeting, and trigger options to fine-tune each aspect of your strategy.

How to Set Up A/B Testing

Create or Select Campaign

Login to your Popupsmart account and ensure you have at least one existing popup campaign or create a new one.

Access A/B Testing

From your dashboard, hover over the campaign on which you want to run A/B testing. Click on the A/B Testing option inside the campaign box.

Create Variations

Create different variations of your popup:

Configure Traffic Ratio

Set the percentage of visitors who will see each variation. For example, allocate 50% to version A and 50% to version B.

New Campaign

If you create a new campaign and start A/B test from scratch, traffic will be directed according to your set ratios.

Existing Campaign

If enabling A/B testing on an existing campaign that has traffic, the new variant will be shown exclusively until it matches your specified percentage.

Activate Campaign

Toggle on the popup campaign. Visitors will be randomly assigned to different variations based on your traffic ratios. All variants are now live.

Monitor Performance

Track each variation's performance through Google Analytics or the Popupsmart dashboard. Use insights to make data-driven decisions.

Data Loss Warning

If you delete a variant, all associated analytics data and leads will be lost.

Choose Winner

After gathering sufficient data, choose the most successful variant. Create a new campaign based on that variant to implement it as your primary popup.
