Email Autoresponder in Popupsmart

Learn how to set up and customize the Email Autoresponder in Popupsmart to automatically send follow-up emails to your popup subscribers.

The Email Autoresponder feature in Popupsmart allows you to automatically send a follow-up email to visitors who subscribe through your popup. This is commonly used for welcome emails, discount delivery, confirmation messages, or onboarding sequences.

Autoresponder emails are sent automatically -- immediately or with a delay -- and without requiring an external email marketing tool.

What Is an Email Autoresponder?

An email autoresponder is an automated email that is sent to users right after they submit their email address via a popup.

  • Send welcome or confirmation emails
  • Deliver coupon codes instantly
  • Share collections, products, or links
  • Create a professional first touchpoint with new subscribers

Email Autoresponder Editor Overview

The Email Autoresponder editor consists of two main parts:

  • Settings and content controls (left panel) -- Configure general settings, email content sections, and send test emails.
  • Live email preview (right panel) -- See real-time changes as you customize your email.

General Settings

The General Settings section controls how your email is sent and displayed in inboxes.

You can switch to the Plain Text & HTML Editor tab at the top of the edit panel for more advanced customization of your email content.

Sending Test Emails

Before publishing, always test your autoresponder.

  1. Click Send Test Emails at the bottom of the left panel
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Review the layout, subject line, links, and mobile responsiveness

Always Test Before Publishing

Testing helps prevent formatting or content issues. Make sure to check your email on both desktop and mobile devices.

Publishing the Autoresponder

After finishing customization:

  1. Save the changes in the email editor
  2. Make sure your popup status is Activated

Once your popup is published and activated, the autoresponder will automatically start sending to new subscribers.
