How to Choose Who Sees Your Popup (Segment Step)
Learn how to choose who sees your popup (segment step). Step-by-step guide with screenshots.
The Segment step controls who will see your popup. After finishing the Design step, click Next to Segment to access this page.
The targeting options shown here are preset and goal-based. They change depending on the campaign goal you selected earlier. Smart Mode is always available.
How Preset Targeting Works
When you choose a campaign goal such as:
- Grow My Email List
- Increase Sales
- Stop Cart Abandonment
- Product Recommendations

The Segment step automatically suggests targeting options that match that goal.
This helps you launch faster without manually setting complex rules.

Smart Mode
How it works
Smart Mode uses artificial intelligence to automatically show your popup to visitors who are most likely to convert. If you are unsure which targeting to use, Smart Mode is a safe starting point.
Best for:
- Email collection
- Sales campaigns
- General growth campaigns
Goal-Based Preset Segments
Depending on your selected goal, you may see options such as:
- Highly Engaging Visitors
- Returning Visitor Engagement
- Cart-related targeting
- Product interest targeting
These presets are optimized for the specific goal you selected.
Simply choose the segment that fits your strategy and click Next to Publish.
