If you wish to upsell or cross-sell to your customers with a ‘Frequently Bought Together’ offer, then you can do so with a Popupsmart campaign. While it’s not yet possible to create an automatically populated section that recommends products based on visitor behavior, you can still configure your popups to upsell or cross-sell to your customers.
Let’s see how.
Step 1: First, create a new campaign on your Popupsmart dashboard.
Step 2: Decide on the product category and the products to be promoted. Determine which product category you will add the offer and which product/s you’ll promote on your popup. For example, if a visitor is browsing a specific product category, you can promote another or a product/product bundle offer. This will ultimately increase your customer’s average order value.
Step 3: Pick a layout and begin designing its look.
Make sure to show product images and write a catchy headline and call to action to encourage customers to take action. Pro tip: Notifying customers about the discount on the product is a game-changer that boosts conversions.
In the Customize section, click to edit button settings and scroll down to Choose Action. Then, select Send & Redirect to URL. Enter the URL of the page you’ll redirect the submitters and set the Target URL Attribute as either “Open in New Tab” or “Open in Current Tab.”
Step 4: Set up your popup’s display settings. Now, this is the most important step of creating a ‘Frequently Bought Together’ popup. So, once you complete the designing step, navigate to the Target tab.
These settings will ensure you show your offer on the specified page, such as a product category or product page.
Besides URL Browsing targeting, consider setting up the After X Seconds trigger for your popup. Simply put, it triggers the popup after a specific period the visitor lands on your page. We recommend not showing the popups right away but instead triggering them once the user spends at least 5 seconds on the page to preserve a better user experience.
